Seminar Series on Communication Technologies end at GAU
Certified Seminar series on Communication Technologies and New Approaches organized by the Alcatel-Lucent was held at the Millenium Senate Congress Hall, Girne American University, Girne campus.
According to the statement made by the Faculty of Engineering, within the framework of a series of seminars and workshops given by the expert engineers of Alcatel Lucent on new approaches in the field of telecommunication and communication technologies, the students learned a lot and refreshed their knowlege on Java and software development, DSL, Optic Network and IPTV and these seminars and workshops contributed a great deal to the student progress.

It has also been stated that with the vision of GAU to catch up with the world standards and create a center of attraction in the field of engineering studies in the 2011 and 2012 Academic Year, new research and development laboratories were built and added to the Techno Park of GAU Faculty of Engineering with the contribution of Lefkosa Embassy of the Republic of Turkey ,and the laboratories of physics, chemistry, software development research and development, internet technologies, computer integrated production and alternative energy began research studies and production together with development of infrastructure and technological features of the laboratories of computer, electronic, ergonomics and work study, PLC and microprocess, electrical devices, mechatronics, software development and microwaves.
It was also emphasized that GAU Technopark at Girne campus is the center of advanced engineering science and studies with its laboratories where experts exchange their experience and opinions with the students and scholars through seminars apart from the theoretical education.
“Avaliability of energy is the indicator of non-existence of lack of confidence”
İhsan Özcan, Turkey Alcatel Lucent group manager stressed that 3-day seminars held at the GAU Girne campus contributed significantly to the student progress and said that the students of GAU had great participation, which was the indicator of how confident they were. Adding that this confidence is gained through quality education, Ozcan said they did not observe lack of confidence among GAU students which they saw among other new graduates. Ozcan thanked all the students and staff of Gau who participated at the seminars and workshops. .
