GAU Celebrates 31st Anniversary of TRNC’s Establishment
Girne American University (GAU) Education Faculty organised the program “The Road that goes to Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus” on the occasion of the 31st anniversary of TRNC’s establishment.
Whilst GAU’s Aviation Higher School Microlight performed at the capital Nicosia, which had organised formal ceremonies to take place, air training vehicles flew in the North Cyprus skies joining in with the Republics joy, the program named “The road that goes to Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus” took place in GAU International Congress Centre Spectrum Hall. Türkay Akpınar, Head of GAU’s Health, Culture and Sports department, academics’ and students showed great interest. GAU Lecturer and Former Foreign Affairs Minister - Prof. Dr. Ulvi Keser and UHH Minister Taner Etkin gave presentations during the program.
UHH Minister - Taner Etkin, stated in his presentation that Turkey, Greece and England’s Prime Minister and also the Turkish and Greek leaders in Cyprus that visited London and spoke about efforts made for the Turkish Republic’s establishment. Further into his presentation he stated that the republic shouldn’t stop, get tried, should fix its own mistakes and not make excuses by finding mistakes in others and taking steps back. By remembering TRNC’s leaders and celebrating the anniversary of Northern Cyprus Etkin thanked the young government that lives forever and thanked Turkey the motherland that has been there for us with everything. Etkin informed that the TRNC, stands and will not fall. The TRNC will protect its independence the way Ataturk showed us.
GAU Business Faculty Lecturer - Prof. Dr. Ulvi Keser showed the participants Cyprus’s history through photographs and celebrated TRNC’s 31st establishment.
At the end of the program of presentation and participation, GAU Head of Health, Culture and Sports Department - Türkay Akpınar presented UHH Minister Taner Etkin and GAU Business Faculty lecturer Prof. Dr. Ulvi Keser with their plaques.
