FACULTY OF POLITICS

Vice Dean's Message

Dear Students

Politics is the most common theme in most, if not in all of the human societies.  Fundemental structures of the social life and consequent diversifications arise, in response to the competition of societies for achieving the “surplus”.  Creation of different mechanisms  in societies at different geographical and historical points, lead to different systemic structures, defined by  the circumscribing conditions. Within this world of never ending struggle, communal or endemic values and their complience or conflict with those in other societies, provides a fertile background for humans as individuals and as groups, to follow and persue, personal and social, benefits and stakes.

The study of organizations, their historical growth, their structure, their relations with one another,  their  values and articulation of values through codes which constitute the norms of the structure, require a rich body of knowledge.  Such knowledge is acquired through numerous sources stretching from signs of the paleolithic remains, to scripts of all kinds on all media, and to contemporary electronic semiotics.

This body of knowledge (human political heritage) is being studied,in our faculty, sometimes through narrative transfer, but mostly  via “analytical approach” (The study of organs, links and issues) and within the codes of scientific discipline.

After completion of  the four years of study, the student is expected to have knowledge on governmental as well as non governmental, (public, private and civil society organizations)  of  local, national and internatinal scope. Though, complex issues of public administration and tactful international relations, certainly benefits from "oratory competence”.  Our vision is “sustainable achievements rest upon sustainable systems”.   The students learn how to govern using objective facts and figures. The students, after graduation are expected to be able to identify accessibe routes for success, deal with relevent issues, expediate the process and finally reach the target which is in complience with community values.

Being one of the “third generation universities”, our faculty visions, a)the transfer of existing information to the students, b)generation of new information with the contribution of students, and c)putting the new information into practice and using it in the public and private sector.

High level of knowledge, efficiency and perseverence are the three common characteristics of our graduates that would be working in public administration institutions and international organizations.
