At the 2009 Council meeting a the FIP (International Pharmaceutical Federation) Congress in Istanbul, Turkey, the Turkish Pharmacists Association suggested to annually celebrate a World Pharmacists Day, to be organised on September 25 (the day that FIP was founded in 1912). World Pharmacists Day is a celebration of every pharmacist, pharmaceutical scientist, and others who are part of this field, a total of 4.000.000 people around the globe.

The purpose of World Pharmacists Day is to encourage activities that promote and advocate for the role of the Pharmacists in improving health in every corner of the world. The day is marked by events and activities to increase awareness about Pharmacists and their roles which became advanced and innovative in the 21. Century. 

Pharmacists are using their expertise, wisdom, knowledge, and experience to provide advice and value-added services for safe, effective, and cost-effective drug therapy besides health promotion. 

“Pharmacy United in Action for a Healthier World” is the theme of World Pharmacists Day on 25 September 2022. This year’s theme aims to showcase pharmacy’s positive impact on health around the world and to further strengthen solidarity among the profession.
