Key Information
Besides aviation programs, GAU also organizes sportive aviation and club activities to take individuals into the fascinating and challenging atmosphere of aviation. In this context, with the strong support of the citizens of Northern Cyprus and the university administration, GAU organizes many events such as incentive flight activities on important dates like July 20 and November 15, Microlight flights, Parachute jumps, World Pilots’ Day celebrations, model airplane courses, and aviation festivals.
Curriculum
Recently, GAU’s efficient programs and attractive scholarship opportunities have received strong demand not only from students from Northern Cyprus and foreign countries but also those from Turkey. In this regard, as a result of the application to the Turkish Republic Council of Higher Education (YÖK), Pilotage training has been approved as an undergraduate academic program by YÖK, and succeeded in becoming the first flight training organization authorized by Turkish Directorate General of Civil Aviation (TR DGCA) in Turkish republic of Northern Cyprus. Academic courses as well as theoretical ground training will be delivered by the Girne American University Undergraduate Professional Flight Program, while flight training will be offered by International Aviation Academy (IAA) as per the Academic Cooperation Protocol signed between GAU and IAA.
