Research Project On Healthy Living by GAU
GAU Department of Architecture addressed the issues of Healthy Ageing and Suitable Areas and Architecture for the elderly in accordance with the proclamation of the year 2015 as the Peace and Health year by GAU American University.
GAU Architecture Department third grade students took over the needs of older people as a priority in line with the talks they have made with nursing home residents during their visit to Lapta Nursing Home in Lapta.
GAU Architecture Department stated that they started working on research and project proposals that refer to more social and healthier features of architecture in which the elderly can lead an active life and contribute to society. The research and development project is to be conducted in accordance with GAU`s contribution to the community vision and the 2015 Peace and Health academic year concept under the leadership of Girne American University English Architecture Undergraduate Program Coordinator and Lecturer - Hassina Nafa. It was specified that the results of the project will be shared as an exhibition in January 2015 and will be presented to the community and to the contribution of civil society organizations.
