The 2nd International Engineering, AI and Applications symposium commenced with an opening speech by TRNC Transportation and Public Works Minister - Hasan Taçoy.

 

The 2nd International Engineering, AI and Applications symposium held in GAU Girne Campus Millennium Building Senate Congress Hall was attended by TRNC Transportation and Public Works Minister - Hasan Taçoy, GAU Founding Rector and Chancellor of the Board of Administrators - Serhat Akpınar, GAU Vice Chancellor of the Board of Administrators - Olgun Üstün, GAU Vice Rector - Prof. Dr. Sadık Ülker, Cyprus Turkish Computer Engineers Chamber (KTBMO) Director - Bora Tüccaroğlu, GAU Global Science Family and GAU Engineering  students.

 

The opening speeches were given by TRNC Transportation and Public Works Minister - Hasan Taçoy, as well as GAU Vice Rector - Prof. Dr. Sadık Ülker, Cyprus Turkish Computer Engineers Chamber (KTBMO) Director - Bora Tüccaroğlu and GAU Vice Rector - Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zafer Ağdelen.

 

TRNC Transportation and Public Works Minister Hasan Taçoy stated in his speech that they support this symposium, which will allow going further economically in the education sector as we dream as a country. Taçoy congratulated Girne American University for organizing this event and stated that they will work on eliminating taxes and other obstacles as the state and that they will support these studies.

 

Cyprus Turkish Computer Engineers Chamber (KTBMO) Director Bora Tüccaroğlu stated in his speech that the largest development in the TRNC will be realized with information and expressed that Technopark laws should be supported, taxes lowered and ARGE studies need to be accelerated and supported. He stated that these issues need to be addressed by the university administration and thanked Girne American University for organizing this event and also for their support.

 

GAU Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Sadık Ülker stated in his speech that with the first of the International Engineering, Artificial Intelligence and Applications Symposium, GAU broke new ground on the subject of artificial intelligence in the TRNC and stressed this year expert scientists will address the  important issues within the scope of GAU. It was stated that Girne American University has become a building that has an international identity with campuses in three continents in the UK, Hong Kong, USA and Istanbul outside of Cyprus. In addition, Ülker noted that GAU has hosted ​​many international symposiums recently, and stressed that they will continue to host other events.

 

Head of the Symposium and GAU Vice Rector - Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zafer Ağdelen stated in his speech that the symposium will continue annually in the years ahead and expressed the three basic visions of GAU, which are education, research and public service. He stated that they are fit for the purpose as GAU, and this year the symposium will host over 100 scientific articles and over 300 international scientists and the articles presented in the symposium will be gathered and sent all around the world. Ağdelen stated that the symposium will be held under three main categories which are AI, Engineering and Applications.

 

Following the opening speeches, GAU Founding Rector and Chancellor of the Board of Administrators - Serhat Akpınar presented TRNC Transportation and Public Works Minister - Hasan Taçoy with a plaque of appreciation for his contribution and support and Cyprus Turkish Computer Engineers Chamber (KTBMO) Director Bora Tüccaroğlu was presented with an appreciation plaque by GAU Vice Rector - Prof. Dr. Sadık Ülker.
