International Agreement by GAU

Academic Agreement between Girne American University and Austria’s Applied Sciences University

 

An academic agreement has been signed with one of Austria’s outstanding universities Applied Sciences University of Austria and Girne American University(GAU).

 

The agreement was signed between Girne American University and Applied Sciences University of Austria, the participants from GAU were Founding Rector and Chancellor  of  GAU - Serhat Akpınar, CEO and Vice Chancellor of Board of Administrators - Assist. Prof. Dr . Asım Vehbi, Vice Rector - Prof. Dr. Sadık Ülker, Vice Rectors - Prof. Dr. Oğuz Karakartal and Prof. Dr. Zafer Ağdelen and the participants from the Applied Sciences University of Austria were Dr. Gerald Reisinger and Lecturer Prof. Andreas Zehetner. Topics of the agreement  were students and academic exchanges, reasearch, publishing of events, vocational improvements and continuing education.

 

On this topic GAU states that they have over 200 active international agreements including the Applied Sciences University of Austria to help create academic exchange between the two countries and help the lifting of the isolation policies which is stated to be very important. Also it has been stated that this academic agreement will include the exchange of academic materials, administrative and academic staff, mutual research in activities and publishing, also conducting of mutual conferences, seminars and exchanges of students and academic staff. As well as the benefits provided by the co-operation between these two institutions given by  this academic agreement, it will also have important contributions to higher education in North Cyprus.
