Girne American University has added the famous screenwriter and director Osman Sınav to its expert academic staff in the 2014/2015 academic year.

GAU stated that Turkey`s famous screenwriter and director Osman Sınav, who has undertaken many successful productions, will begin teaching in GAU Communications Department under GAU. The statement which noted that Osman Sınav has put his signature on many feature films, TV series and commercial films amounting to over 300 up until now, emphasized that Sınav will lecture GAU communication school students with his vast experience and knowledge, and that the students who graduate from GAU will take their place between the opinion leaders in the film industry.

Also Osman Sınav, who was interviewed with the GAU CEO and Vice-Chancellor of the Administrative Board - Assist. Prof. Dr. Asım Vehbi, evaluated future projects that can be realized with joint efforts on academic and film industry while getting information about the university.

Osman Sınav stated on GAU TV that the Girne American University students should feel lucky to be a part of this warm and proven educational institution and underlined that he felt very happy when he first saw the interest and light in the eyes of the students in his first lesson. Sınav said that he believes the GAU Faculty of Communication students will achieve very successful work in the future in the film industry and that he is happy to be at Girne American University. Sınav stressed that the last time he was in Cyprus, he created the scenario of the film "Aşk Kırmızı" (Red Love) and emphasized that he always felt rested and inspired in Kyrenia. He emphasized that he participated as a jury member in the GAU High School Short Film Competition 4 years ago and was impressed with the campus in the past, but he found a more spacious campus four years later and that the students should know that it is a privilege to study in Kyrenia and to see the spectacular Mediterranean Sea scenery when they look from their classes and stated that the competition is now much more differentiated and that this is why education is necessary in all areas. Osman Sınav who aims to prepare Girne American University students for industry, also provided GAU TV cameramen with detailed information about the projects that he wants to perform in the future.

The Biography of Osman Sınav is as follows:

Osman Sınav was born in 1956, Burdur, Turkey. From 1975 –1979 he studied painting, textile design and attended the Film – TV Institute of the State Academy of Fine Arts in Istanbul.

He began to his career with writing and directing commercials. Between 1984 and 1987, he took part in the production of over 500 commercials. Then he wanted to convey his experience and the thrill he had for the visual arts to cinema. He founded the film production company called Sinegraf. Onwards he has been directing and producing TV series, movies and commercials which are the product of his passion.

Osman Sınav, has shot Bir Muharririn Ölümü, Yalancı şafak, Atlıkarınca, Hünkârın bir günü, Küçük dünya, Aşka kimse yok, Kapıları açmak and Yalancı for television, and Gerilla, Deli yürek bumerang cehennemi and Paris Kiraz Operasyonu for cinema

In 1991, he concentrated on series for television. Sınav who established himself as a master director, was the producer and director of the much-loved 15-series film such as Süper baba, Deli yürek, Hayat bağları, Ekmek teknesi, Kurtlar Vadisi and Sakarya Fırat which is still on air. His TV series was greeted with interest not only in Turkey, but in worldwide geography by a large number of country’s television.

Osman Sınav who gave us memorable films and television works for over 30 years, is a member of Director’s Association, Cinematic Right Owner’s Society and member of executive committee of Turkish Cinema and Television Producers Association.
