Girne American University Faculty of Architecture, Design and Fine Arts, art section German-born Australian artist faculty member and art historian author - Professor Dr. Lutz Presser’s “Selfies 2014” exhibition which was prepared in 2014 opened with a ceremony.  

The opening ceremony which was held in GAU Faculty of Architecture, Design and Fine Arts exhibition hall was attended by GAU CEO and Vice Chairman of the Board - Assist. Prof. Dr. Asım Vehbi, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Architecture, Design and Fine Arts -Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hossein Sadri, Faculty Members Prof. Dr. Lutz Presser, Prof. Dr. Kutsal Öztürk, Prof. Dr. Mesut Ayan as well as other academicians and students.

GAU CEO and Vice Chancellor of the Board - Assist. Prof. Dr. Asim Vehbi made an opening speech and stated that they were usually accustomed to opening students’ exhibitions, but reported that they were also happy to open an exhibition of a valuable teacher. Vehbi, found it remarkable that the exhibition is named after a recent popular trend “the Selfies”, and expressed that Presser’s work unlike today’s current trend, has been located in western art for a long time, and its way of putting what happened at that time, modes and thoughts onto paper. Vehbi, thanked the students for shedding light on a different vision and wished the first exhibition of the academic year would be beneficial for everyone.

GAU made a statement about the relevant issue; Prof. Dr. Lutz Presser’s “Selfies 2014” exhibition which was prepared in 2014 and consists of 20 pieces of art which will be open between 13-25 October in GAU’s Faculty of Architecture, Design and Fine Arts exhibition hall.
