GAU has sponsored the International Comparative Education Symposium organized by TRNC Technical Teachers Association.

The international symposium was attended by academicians and trainers from Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Romania, Moldavia, Iran, Iraq and Kosovo.  GAU was represented by Dean of Faculty of Education - Prof. Dr. Oğuz Karakartal.  Before the commencement of the symposium the guests were presented with a visual presentation by Oğuz Karakartal at Malpas Hotel about “Turkish Culture and Cyprus in Educational History”.  Karakartal visually explained the importance of Cyprus in relation to Turkish history. Karakartal also emphasized the well-known authors and academicians who have been to Cyprus, and also discussed the significance of teachers in respect of Cyprus in accordance with the historical period. Following the presentation the Chair of the Association thanked GAU and presented a plaque of appreciation to Prof. Dr.  Oğuz Karakartal. On the second day of the symposium the Chair of TRNC Technical Teachers Association - Ahmet Arslan, Chair of International Eurasia Trainers Federation - Şuayp Özcan, Chair of International Eurasia Trainers Association - Dr. Bahattin Ergezer, Chair of EYUDER Adem Çelik and Chair of KEB-DER - Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Uzunboylu gave their speeches on education.  Subsequently the guest academicians and trainers who had come from Eurasia gave their presentations in three sessions.

The guests who also visited the GAU Faculty of Education met the members of the Faculty and had further discussions regarding future interactions.
