GAU At An International Congress
Girne American University (GAU) Dean of the Faculty of Communication - Assoc. Prof. Dr. Elif Asude Tunca has presented her report on International Advertising at the 12th International Turkish World Social Sciences Congress.
The 12th International Turkish World Social Sciences Congress was coordinated by Sakarya University under the guidance of Turkish World Research Foundation between the dates of August 31 and September 6 hosted in Tatarstan’s capital Kazan, by the Republic of Tatarstan and Kazan Federal University.
The faculty member of GAU - Assoc. Prof. Dr. Elif Asude Tunca, the only participant from Cyprus, discussed two of the advertising campaigns of the global brands of Coca Cola in her report which was regarding international marketing strategies and advertising concepts. In the report, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tunca, referred to the March 21 Newroz Festival at Kirghizstan and the 50th celebration year in Turkey and compared the television advertisements, which are broadcasted in Cyprus, in terms of linguistic and visual through the television channels of Turkey.
Dean of Faculty of Communication - Assoc. Prof. Dr. Elif Asude Tunca in her study, emphasized the strategies and campaigns set by Coca Cola advertisements with regard to strategies and marketing methodologies developed in accordance with the criticisms generated from the cultural hegemony raised upon the companies conducting international marketing activities.
Especially Tatarstan and Turkey, many academicians, institutional authorities and institutions from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kirghizstan, and Ukraine attended with a total of 190 notices presented in simultaneous sessions at 12th International Turkish World Congress.
The Turkish World Social Sciences Congress, which is held annually under the guidance of Turkish World Research Foundation and which gathers institutional authorities and academicians, is one of the multi-partnered and broadly participated international congresses.
