Children of Arabahmet Met with Art with GAU

Girne American University (GAU) added a new project to its social responsibility projects with the co-operation of the Arabahmet Culture and Art House by organizing free Children and Art Workshop to introduce art and painting to the children who live in the region.

Children who live in Arabahmet region began to take free art education under the leadership of the lecturer of GAU Architecture, Design and Fine Arts Faculty Plastic Arts Department – Sinem Ertaner within the scope of "Children`s Art Workshop" organization.

 “Sensitive Cities and Sensitive Countries Grow with Children”

Sinem Ertaner, lecturer of GAU Architecture, Design and Fine Arts Faculty Plastic Arts Department, who made a statement about Children’s Art Workshop which has started providing education with the slogan of  "Sensitive Cities and Sensitive Countries Grow with Children”, expressed that the children who live in this region showed great interest in this activity and further stated that -

"A peaceful place, where lively and colorful sharing is experienced in a deserted, quiet neighborhood, was prepared with the sensitive touch of Girne American University. Environmental effects on children and its mark on studies created by children were observed via the products created during the eight-week studies. Covered topics were based on the development of children`s imagination and awareness, and included topics such as interpretation of stories from history, the movement of nature and its effects on us humans, the place of colors in our lives and our own value in life. The products created with colors and mixed materials are planned to be exhibited in the Art Gallery of Arabahmet Culture and Art House. Ertaner further stated that “we are aiming to raise individuals with high self-esteem and environmental awareness with the reinforcing effect of art within the projects we ought to realize under GAU Faculty of Architrecture, Design and Fine Arts in the valuable asset of Arabahmet Culture and Art House.”
