Le Chateau Lambousa Hotel, which serves under Girne American University, was able to bring a new breath to Cyprus Tourism and Hospitality Sector in a short time.

Project coordinator of the Le Chateau Lambousa Hotel; directed by the GAU Presidential Office and GAU Faculty of Tourism, from the day opened its doors on June 14, with the "Feel yourself as a queen and king in a calm, peaceful environment at the kingdom of service" slogan offered to their guests, has succeeded to take its place in the tourism sector as a place that should be visited and stayed by both locals and foreign guests.

GAU Founding Rector and Chancellor of the Board of Administrators – Serhat Akpınar who expressed that they had 98% of Bayram fullness, stated that local people and foreigners who live in Cyprus, was impressed with the serene and peaceful environment of the facility. Akpınar who indicated that their investment brings significant gain to the hotel and business owners in the region, also to the people who live in Lapta, stated that Le Chateau Lambousa Hotel will open its doors with big surprises very soon to institutions and people who are involved with different types of culture and alternative tourism models.

AKPINAR who expressed that the investment in Cyprus will be more owned and understandable day by day, stated that - "The hotel will be one of the most important centers that will train personnel to the tourism education and the industry itself.”

Akpınar who expressed that they need to work very hard to change the sectoral perception in TRNC with different approaches from the non-governmental organizations and tour operators; stated that they are working so hard to bring our beautiful country to the prestigious position it deserved and that they will work hard to show that the tourism sector in Cyprus does not consist of only with the casino industry. He expressed that they are happy because of the interest shown to the hotel, stated that Le Chateau Lambousa hotel with a total of 240 beds, will add 100 more beds to the facility as of September, making it total 340 beds, and will transform to a flexible investment that will address to different objectives from sports tourism to congress tourism, built on 26 Acres Turkish land.

In the New Year, in addition to these investments in all Lapta hotel area and surrounding villages existing, it is predicted that they will employ another 20 people to the staff and reported that the facility will have 4 pools with the completion of the indoor pool project and especially SPA Fitness Center.

Dean of the GAU Tourism Faculty and Coordinator of the Le Chateau Lambousa Hotel –Assist. Prof. Dr. İsmet Esenyel stated that – “Positive comments we received from our guests about two months after the opening process show that we are doing the right things as a team."

Esenyel who shared that they believed that they will bring a new breath to Tourism and Hospitality Education in Cyprus and North Cyprus Tourism Sector with the investment that has been made in the sector, stated that they are even moving towards becoming a brand abroad in Tourism and Hospitality Education very soon. Esenyel who announced that students who preferred GAU Tourism and Hospitality School this year has peaked and that potential students will get an opportunity to  work and when practice while studying, stated that they are living the happiness of being among the world`s top 25 universities with 5-Star Practice hotels. Esenyel, who stated that 5-star practice hotels operated by Tourism Faculties, which is common in Switzerland, France, America and the Far East in particular, are rarely operated together with the sector, reported that they will enter the new year with peace of mind of being among the schools such as Ecole Hotelier de Lausanne in Switzerland, the French Paul Bocuse, University of Hawaii, UCLA (University College Los Angeles, CA). Esenyel who stated that they developed a very new curriculum and a different type of hospitality education model that has never been applied before in TRNC for the students that will register this year; explained that they integrated the American System with the Swiss Hospitality Education, the best hospitality education model of the world. He reported that there will be a different education and practice model regarding the food and beverage practical training of the various departments of the newly opened hotel, especially in Kitchen and North Shield Pub, and that with the management of the professional staff, the students in Front Office, Reservations, Marketing Departments, will be the most successful ones in this sector.

Esenyel who expressed that they are into different approaches and actions regarding the guest satisfaction, reported that all the Cypriot people should look out for the investments that has been made, and then there will be literally achieve success with the Repeat visitors.
