Girne American University Climbs to The Peak with AHA Protocol
Girne American University- Tourism and Accommodation Faculty continues to be the first via its international and comprehensive vision.
GAU is the sole authority of AHAWC (American Hospitality Academy World Campus) Online education; originally operating in USA South Caroline, in the region until 2019 as it is broaden its territories from TRNC to South Eastern Mediterranean and Turkey.
Subsequent to long standing coordination and execution process been ongoing with the series of meeting held amongst GAU Chancellor of Board of Administrators Serhat Akpınar and Dean of Tourism Faculty Assist. Prof. Dr. İsmet Esenyel, AHA Chair Cindi Reiman and Chair of AHA International Academic and Coordination Council Dr. Corazon Gatchalian.
AHA Chair Reiman has stated that they have been closely tracking the progress of GAU Faculty of Tourism and specifically the Tourism and Hotel Education and added that the agreement between GAU Faculty of Tourism and AH&LA – American Hotel &Lodging Association necessitated AHA authorities to closely follow-up and undertake cooperation with GAU in similar fields.
GAU Chancellor of Board of Administrators Serhat Akpınar has emphasized that they are very grateful to have added cooperation to their current list by signing a protocol with AHA following GAU’s International development in means of Tourism and Hotel Education, and stated that AHA “Leadership in Sevices Sector” program is largely demanded amongst Universities operating in America and Far-East. Akpınar further explained that they aim to swiftly alter the perception on Hotel sector in TRNC. Sector and Educational unification, adds Akpınar, significantly offers education on sectorial demand.
Dean of the Tourism Faculty, Assist. Prof. Dr. İsmet Esenyel has underlined that the significance of the University and the Faculty to have come so far is nothing to be sneezed upon. Esenyel explained further that American Hospitality Academy World Campus is an establishment expert in areas of HPC (Hospitality Professional Certificate, HSC (Hospitality Supervisor Certificate ),MDC (Managing Diversity In the Workplace ) and that these are undergraduate programs operating under the accreditation of South Caroline higher education office.
Students who study in GAU Tourism Faculty and individuals who would like to participate in the program are offered with online opportunities to easily follow up the programs from their home and directly interact with their classmates. Each program is announced to be applied to separately but all the programs are to be applied as whole only by October.
