GAU Trains The Future Captains in International Maritime

GAU is providing simulation, training stations and an open air laboratory for the 4 year programs of Transportation and Logistics and Deck (Shipping Management Engineering) under Maritime and Transportation Higher School.

 

Captain Efdal Safel, the Principal of Maritime and Transportation Higher School and also an Unlimited Master and Marine Transportation Management Engineer has underlined that student who will be internationally trained as captains in an island of North Cyprus will perfectly represent their countries in global waters.

Efdal Safel has added that the Deck Department is perfectly ready for the new academic year in accordance with the new directives of  International Maritime Organization and Ministry of Turkish Republic Transportation Maritime and Communication and Technopark building is fully equipped in means of classrooms, laboratoiers, bridge simulator, GMDSS Simulator, Manoeuvre Simulator, Liquid Cargo Handling Simulator, and 4 experimental pools.

Safel emphasized that GAU is one and only university in Cyprus with two outdoor training pools, closed davit lifeboat and advance fire station located in Camelot facilities and boats that provide training in international waters in accordance with world and EU standards. Safel also added that GAU Higher School of Maritime and Transportation has gained appreciation from the vice-president of Higher Education Council, Deans and Heads of institutions and establishments providing maritime education, Chair  and technical board of Vessel Engines Management Engineers Chamber and auditors and directors of National Education Ministry, General Director and the board of Sea and National Waters coordination during their participation to the Maritime Education Council hosted by GAU.
