THE DENTAL HOSPITAL IS TO SERVE IN LATE OCTOBER UPON GAU AND DENTISTANBUL COOPERATION

Girne American University (GAU), on the eve of its 30th academic year, will begin to accept its first patient at the end of October 2014 at the dental hospital project, which was ventured in the field of health and education.

The feasibility studies and planning that was conducted after the cooperation protocol, which will provide education and services in the field of oral and dental health, signed between Turkey`s first dental hospital - Dentistanbul and Cyprus`s first university - Girne American University, has come to an end. Dentistanbul President of the Board - Murat Özel and GAU Founding Rector and Chancellor of the Board of Administrators - Serhat Akpınar made important explanations after the meeting that took place in Girne American University Millennium Building Presidential Office.

Özer, "It is a gratifying honor for Dentistanbul to put a project into practice and to be a family with GAU.”

Dentistanbul President of the Board - Murat Özel stated that they are very excited for the dental hospital which will provide service and said that it is a gratifying honor for Dentistanbul to put a project into practice and to be a family with GAU. Özer explained that they signed a protocol agreement with GAU about 5 months ago to establish a dental hospital and to contribute in GAU`s investments in the medical field and stated that potential investment places and locations related to the health field were performed in a five-month period. Özer expressed that Mr. Serhat and his team greatly contributed to the completion of the project with their right determination and rigorous studies that were carried out and stressed that, they could begin the patient acceptance at end of October.

Dentistanbul President of the Board - Murat Özel further stated that:

"In the course of dental hospital process, our research on the device differences was already present in the Ar-Ge of Dentistanbul. We have completed our research and our assessments. We have completed our negotiations with friends regarding the transportation of the devices that will be brought here. Thanks to architects and civil engineers who quickly finished their projects and we are in the process to give start now. As I said before, we will begin to accept our first patient in October. I would first like to mention that we did not come to Cyprus to include ourself into the market; one of our reasons is that; we want to show that health tourism from Turkey or European countries, the Middle East can be done here in Cyprus. We want to show it with Girne American University and Dentistanbul. We want to emphasize that not only tourism but also health tourism will also be made. Cyprus is an island that is truly unique in the world. We are here to also contribute to this island. We are really excited. Hopefully Dentistanbul will be able to say we exist in education with regards to the Girne American University Faculty of Dentistry.”

Özer, "Being in This Value, Will Also Add Value to Us"

Özer who congratulated the 30th anniversary of GAU in education, wished continuous success and stated that for a value that is based on many years to go into the future with their burning torches is a thing to be proud of. Özer who said that being in this value will also add great value to them, stated that they believed they would succeed at better projects in the future hand in hand as Girne American University and Dentistanbul.

Serhat Akpınar, "Kyrenia will become the center of health tourism."

GAU Founding Rector and Chancellor of the Board of Administrators - Serhat Akpınar who made a statement about the topic, stated that they also shared the same excitement and reported that they conducted required versatile work and developed necessary steps for about 5 months as Girne American University. Akpınar who expressed that with the process progressing in such an exciting way, very different stages of the project will be shared with public the coming days, and emphasized that the approach and development programs demonstrated in the GAU’s health areas particularly in education faculties, pharmacy and dentistry faculties, are the good steps that has been taken to the point of self-improvement. Akpınar who talked about accounting students to the relevant departments in the next year stated that "Kyrenia will become the center of health tourism."

GAU Founding Rector and Chancellor of the Board of Administrators - Serhat Akpınar further stated that -

"We were talking about a Medical City and today, we are taking concrete steps with Mr. Murat. We live all this excitement with our inwardness every day. We are taking the first step in the dental field and we will enter very different areas with different disciplines at the Medical City project with Mr. Murat and his band. Dentistanbul itself is a very large value in Turkey today. Our group which have taken nice accomplishments in their area and them being able to take steps forward in this context by developing themselves and establishing hospital, not only in Turkey but also within the International and the European Union and in different countries and for them to come to the TRNC with such a beautiful and intimate feeling is a great chance for us. We will evaluate this chance very good. We will try to keep the structure strong as possible. And will try to give the best service to our people, to people in the outside world and to the world beyond the health tourism programs."
