Kyrenia Research Institute visit the Minister of Internal Affairs - Uluçay
Kyrenia Research Institute officials, who serve under Girne American University (GAU), visited the Minister of Internal Affairs - Teberrüken Uluçay.
Kyrenia Research Institute President, GAU CEO and Chancellor of the Board - Assist. Prof. Dr. Asım Vehbi, GAU General Secretary and GAE Board Member - Assist. Prof. Dr. Sualp Davut, GAE General Coordinator - Hasan Erçıka and Board members - Günhan Nalbantoğlu and Erhan Vechi attended the visit.
Vehbi, “Our goal is to help solve the research results and the current problems"
Kyrenia Research Institute President, GAU CEO and Chancellor of the Board - Assist. Prof. Dr. Asım Vehbi stated that the establishment reason of the Institute, which was as a result of a decision of the GAU Senate, is to help solve the research results and the current problems. Vehbi who shared their plans in the coming period and the research with Uluçay, stated that they visited to get suggestions about what can be done in the future.
Vehbi, who explained that they plan to resolve the important needs of the island by conducting research across Cyprus, expressed that they have prepared two areas of research so far which they plan to have a traditional expectation of the first survey and the second is a two-dimensional local authorities research and stated that they evaluate the expectations of the people and the place of local governments in the system with the research. Vehbi also stressed that they also perform research studies on social issues such as environment and health.
Vehbi, who presented the “Local Government Prospects" report to Uluçay, which was prepared after the survey results carried out in recent days, stated their desire to get his opinions for the continuation of this research.

The Minister of Internal Affairs - Teberrüken Uluçay underlined that this type of research is very valuable, and thanked Girne American University for their sensitivity towards this and similar social responsibility projects and emphasized that doing studies on the country`s most vulnerable areas, which is research and development, is very meaningful.
Uluçay who stated that there are serious problems with the local authorities in the country and described that this study will help them by presenting scientific approaches, stated that - "Benefiting from this study is a great blessing for us"
Uluçay indicated that the chronic problems in the country cannot be solved by any institution alone and stated that they need to work in cooperation to contribute to a faster and scientific solution of those problems.
