American College Primary School Graduation
Ceremonial Graduation for the Future Opinion Leaders
The American College Primary School which provides education under the GAU Group of Schools, has held a spectacular graduation ceremony.
The ceremony which was held in GAU International Congress Centre Spectrum Hall was attended by GAU Founding Rector and Chancellor of Board of Administrators - Serhat Akpınar, GAU Vice- Chancellor of Board of Administrators and Head of Group of Schools - Cemile Esenyel, School Principals and students’ families.
The ceremony program started with a moment of silence, the National Anthem and the GAU Anthem and then continued with the opening speeches of the American Primary School Principal - Nagehan Diner and International American Primary School Principal - Paula Branch.
Nagehan Diner - the American College Primary School Principal stated in her speech that they have been together with most of the graduating students and therefore it is very sad to witness them leaving. Diner emphasised that every student is now a member of the College and they are most welcome to come in at any time they desire. Diner underlined that she has an absolute belief that the students will have a bright future as they have been educated with English and French languages and an international level of science, social and mathematics education.
Paula Branch - the Principal of International American College Primary School stated in her speech that the students are no different than her own children and that they had the opportunity to study in a multicultural environment, with a high command of lingual sufficiency integrated international level courses which would ensure their future.
Following the speeches, English and Turkish songs were sung by the school chorus and a slideshow of photographs that have been taken during the year were exhibited resulting in emotional moments amongst the students. After the slideshow, graduate students made speeches with regard to their thoughts and emotions and furthermore emphasizing the gratitude they have towards the school at which they have been graduated and added that they feel sad about leaving behind their teachers and friends.
Following the student speeches, GAU Founding Rector and Chancellor of Board of Administrators - Serhat Akpınar, GAU Vice- Chancellor of Board of Administrators and Head of Group of Schools - Cemile Esenyel and teachers presented students with their diplomas.
Mary Mehmet - who is now retired, was presented with a plaque of appreciation by Serhat Akpınar for her smiling face, charitableness and lovable character during her years in the GAU family.
