The examination date and requirements have been announced for student candidates wishing to apply for entrance to the Dance Academy Dancing Department of GAU which began education under the motto of “Let’s Dance Now”.

The Dance Department 2014/2015 Academic year’s special talent examination is to be held on Thursday 12th June 2014 at 11:00am in the GAU Dance Academy. The announcement referred to the successful international contest rankings together with the Best Academy Award which was previously awarded in 2010 to the GAU Dance Academy under the category of “Success Awards” and also in the 2011/2012 academic years the winning of the Turkey Dance Championship. GAU Dance Academy provides education to EU and world standards with its teaching staff, infrastructure and dance studios which are located on the west wing of GAU Girne Campus.

It was also mentioned in the announcement the world famous Turkish and Russian dance authorities, artists and academicians in the GAU Performing Arts Department. Important names such as Member of Turkey Dance Federation Board of Administrators and the creator of Functional Dance Theory - Galip Emre, Oleg Manukovich, Liliya Biroğul and Suzan Heıjari-Erkan and also leading actors of Russian and European opera and ballet performances are active in GAU Performing Arts teaching staff.

Only a limited number of students will be approved for 2 and 4 year programs of the Dance Department.

It has further been emphasized that students who graduate from 2 year programs of the Performing Arts Department will have the opportunity to continue their careers as a Member of Dance Group, Soloist, Acting Director, Choreographer, Body Movement Expert, Reformist Researcher on Dance Theories, Dance Researches, Performance Studies and Dance Criteria, Counseling Director on Art Organizations. For those students who will be graduates of 4 year programs they will have the opportunity to be a Professional Dance Trainer and Dance and Art Director in Primary schools and high schools and also a Reformist Researcher on Dance Theories, Dance Researches, Performance Studies and Dance Criteria.
