Serhat AKPINAR: “We are showing to the world the point that the North Cyprus Education System has reached by establishing the first International University of Moldova”

Girne American University, in its 30th anniversary year of its existence, will establish a university in Kishinev, capital of Moldova, in the higher education sector. The name will be ‘Moldova American University’ and a college named ‘GAU American College’ will also be established.

GAU Founding Rector and also the representative ambassador of TRNC - Serhat Akpınar paid a courtesy visit to Moldova Ambassador to the Turkish Republic - Mehmet Selim Kartal, Minister of Moldova National Education and Higher Education Office.

During his visit, Akpınar was accompanied by the Vice-President of TRNC Republican Assembly Ünal Üstel and GAU board.

Akpınar emphasizing that GAU is presenting the point that has been reached in TRNC higher-education to the world by spreading its international campuses and the national flag to each and every country, also added that the American education system will be conveyed to Moldova by GAU and GAU will also initiate the first international university education in Moldova.

Akpınar confirmed that, during his courtesy visit to the Moldova Ambassador to Turkish Republic Mehmet Selim Kartal, GAU has set decisions to establish educational units and tourism office in Moldova and upon this decision the GAU Science board have paid a visit to the Moldova Ministry of Education and Higher-Education Office with regard to the Moldova American University that has also been supported by the higher officials of Moldova.

Akpınar also emphasized that the visit of the GAU Science board has also been broadly published on the official website of the Moldova Ministry of Education and finally remarked that GAU American College will initiate its educational life in Moldova during the 2015/2016 Academic Years.
