Students of Girne American University - Pre-School Teaching Department is continuing to exhibit social solidarity in respect of their responsibilities.

Girne American University - Pre-School Teaching department, which conducts its studies under the scope of social responsibility, accompllished a significant task by donating all the revenue earned in the Pre-School Educational Approaches and Applications Symposium which was held on 16th to 18th April 2014.

Started 2 years ago by GAU Pre-School Teaching department, the project aimed to support and reinforce schools in need of asiistance and thus conducted a renovation of Esentepe Pre-School Education Centre which had been previously selected by Girne District Office.

Teaching Assistant - Aytaç Dilek who further emphasized that they have successfully accomplished their task of renovating the Esentepe Educational Centre under the responsibility project of 2014 Spring Semester, Teaching Assist. - Handan Gençgel and the Head of Dept. Assist. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Toran have supported the theoretical courses and further enriched the skills up to the point of vocational expertise.

The materials developed in courses were submitted to the renovated Esentepe Educational Centre.

Following the interior and exterior renovation of the centre by GAU Pre-School Teaching department, it was later prepared for pre-school children’s education through redesigning the classrooms in line with qualified educational environments which are aimed to enrich vocational experiences.

A first in TRNC; a complex educational environment for pre-school was designed and also classrooms were restored to give an ideal environment for children to benefit from. For 4 years the classrooms at Esentepe Pre-School Education Centre have been inappropriate sizes for the groups of children for the physical ratios of the children’s development and the education.

Teaching Assist. - Aytaç Dilek- the responsible person for the course, has underlined that the social responsibility and awareness building activities are indeed essential for the development of teaching and furthermore children benefit from ideal educational environment and materials and also that they as teachers teach students to aim for children’s rights.

Assist. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Toran emphasized that Girne American University have presented its exemplary act of social responsibility and the fact that the University is uniting with the community thus putting effort for the needs of society. Finally Toran stated that the Pre-School Teaching department will always undertake social responsibilities.
