The traditional annual GAU May Day picnic was again held at GAU Cyprus-Girne Campus Leisure and Tourism - Hotel Management Application Centre - Camelot Beach Club.

Ordinarily, the GAU science family have actively participated in the May Day celebration as a tradition together with the presenter Abbas Güçlü of Genç Bakış program - broadcast in Kanal D. GAU Academic and Administrative staff, Deans of the Faculties, Heads of Departments and also the personnel participated in the May Day celebration giving a colourful and joyful atmosphere to the picnic.

GAU Chair of Board of Trustees - Memduh Erdal, Founding Rector and Chancellor of Board of Administrators - Serhat Akpınar, GAU CEO and Vice-Chancellor - Assist. Prof. Dr. Asım Vehbi, Vice-Chancellors - Olgun Üstün and Cemile Esenyel, Rector - Prof. Dr. Yıldırım Öner, Vice-Rectors and other higher officials of the university collaboratively participated actively at the May Day picnic with other academic and administrative staff and GAU Pre-Higher Education Group of Schools to celebrate both the emerging of the spring season and also the 1st of May Labour Fest.
