26 March 2014 / at 20:00pm / GAU Spectrum

A system which is managed by the "Big Bosses”…“The Rights" that are imposed by the system... Those who are involved "unconsciously" into this system…
The name of the project, the Diet of the Duke: A matchbox white cheese and a pill.
The effort of changing only the physical, to get rid of the mental imbalance and unhappiness…
The mirrors lose their function at the point where the man can’t see himself…
Conclusion: When a person can’t reveal his mind and soul, in a word his existence and can’t get over the feelings of worthlessness that is self-appraised, he is doomed to be exploited by the capitalist system.
An existence that is constructed based on the form instead of the essence creates annihilation.

Talimhane Theater
27 March 2014 / at 20:00 pm/GAU Spectrum

"Actually, there is something very funny, I know how much money that I am worth. How many people can say that? I have three thousand dollars. Because Mustafa paid that much to me. So, two and a half iPhones."

When Dijana that morning came from Odessa on the ferry to Karakoy Pier dock, she had the dreams of a happy future and the hope of a better life. But those planned for her, rather than dreams were something else. She fell into the hands of human traffickers, her passport was taken away, she was locked up in a house, Dijana was only one of hundreds of women forced into prostitution. She tells us of a history that is hard to endure from time to time with truth and irony. Talimhane Theatre adapts the play to our country which unfortunately plays an important role in human trafficking.

THE SEAGULL

Bursa State Theatre
30 March 2014 / at 20:00pm / GAU Spectrum

"The Seagull" (1895), which is the classical masterpiece of Anton Pavlovich Chekhov, the most important writer of Russian Realism, will be staged by Bursa State Theatre for the first time. The play, which will also take stage at the Ankara State Theatre in the Chekhov 2013-2014 season, takes place at the end of the 19th century in Russia. The play focuses on the end of a century in a troubled atmosphere of rural life away from Moscow. This depression also is a harbinger of impending economic and class changes. An aristocratic family with origins and its neighbourhood which is now coming to an end and failed to keep pace with this change, is the dramatic essence of the play. In such an environment, it is not possible for a person in the play to look with confidence to the future, to be loved in return or to able to go after their dreams. Chekhov unfolds skillfully the common destiny of each story in the environment of impasse and depression.
