A Symposium on “Education and Application in Pre-School Education” has been organized by GAU Pre-School Teaching Department and is being held on 16th 17th and 18th April 2014 at GAU Spectrum International Congress Centre.

GAU has announced that the Symposium will be open to candidates of pre-school, guidance and psychological counseling, classroom and special education teachers and also to students studying in Psychology Departments and their graduate psychologists. The main theme of the Symposium “Education and Application in Pre-School Education” will include issues such as applications in pre-school education, family contribution applications in pre-school education, assessment in pre-school education, science education in pre-school education, harmonization education in pre-school education, music, early sexual education in childhood period, the effect of child literature on children’s development, children literature and creativity and studies on hero figures in children’s books. The announcement stated that the attendees will be presented with certificates of participation.

The speakers are the academicians of the leading universities of Turkey; Prof.Dr. Gelengül Haktanır, Prof.Dr. İbrahim Halil Diken, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Neslihan Avcı, Assist. Prof. Dr. Özlem Alkan Ersoy, Assist. Prof. Dr. Mesut Saçkes, Assist. Prof. Dr. Zeynep Kurtulmuş, Dr. İlknur Özal Göncü and the authors of famous children’s books Specialist Ayşe Turla, Aysel Gürmen and Koray Avcı Çakman. The monetary sum gathered from the symposium, as the result of contributive public benefit by the unique university of the TRNC, will be spent on the restoration of two priority specified pre-schools by the Girne District Office which will be restored by the students of GAU pre-school teaching students thus enabling both academic and communal contribution.

Toran, “The Symposium will build Awareness on Pre-School Education”

The Head of GAU Pre-School Teaching - Assist. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Toran has stated that “The topics that are to be covered during the seminar which is to be held at GAU, an institution contributing to the standardization of education in the field of early childhood education in TRNC, is both a guideline to the students of our university and to others within the TRNC who are in the field of pre-school education as implementers. Furthermore the Symposium will further contribute by means of culture and education to the TRNC, a centre for culture and education.”
