Contribution from GAU Academicians to Urban Workshop

Girne American University contributed to the “Urban Workshop” which was organized by the Chamber of Architects of Turkey in Batman.

Vice-Dean of GAU Architecture, Design and Fine Arts Faculty – Assist. Prof. Dr. Hossein Sadri and Head of Department of Interior Design – Assist. Prof. Dr. Senem Zeybekoğlu Sadri attended as guest speakers at the workshop which was held between 1st and 2nd March. Prof. Dr. İclal Dinçer and Prof. Dr. Asuman Türkün from Yıldız Technical University, Prof. Dr. Kamuran Sami and Assist. Prof. Dr. Oğuz Sinemillioğlu from Dicle University, Assist. Prof. Dr. Hossein Sadri and Assist. Prof. Dr. Senem Zeybekoğlu Sadri from Girne American University, Assist. Prof. Dr. Selim Temo from Martin Artuklu University, the Chair of Istanbul Bar Association Environmental and City Commission Adv. Alev Tuna and Y. Mim. Burak Kaan Yılmazsoy also attended the workshop as speakers.

The two-day workshop which was organized by the Chamber of Architects Batman Representation was attended by local government officials, political parties mayoral candidates, professional organizations and universities, and evaluated urban problems and solution of Turkey via various sessions and panels.

Assist. Prof. Dr. Hossein Sadri gave a speech entitled “Place and Occupation”, which is about the profession of architecture and its role in the transformation of the place while Assist. Prof. Dr. Senem Zeybekoğlu Sadri gave a speech entitled “Urban Partition” and talked about urban problems that may arise and solutions to those problems.
