Great interest in GAU inter-high schools short film contest -
the grand prize is 2000 euros and 100% foundation scholarship at Canterbury Campus, England

Admissions for the 8th Inter-High Schools Short Film Contest have commenced at Girne American University for students from Turkey and the TRNC who are enthusiasts of cinema.

The GAU Communication Faculty, which aims to support new ideas and cinema culture, has organized the 8th Inter-High Schools Short Film Contest to encourage young directors and those who are interested in cinema.

Girne American University, on the eve of its 30th year in higher education, has organized the 8th Inter-High Schools Short Film Contest to encourage young directors and cinema enthusiasts to screen their stories, fulfill their dreams and reinforce their education. GAU also provides an opportunity for those young people who desire to develop themselves in cinema by exhibiting their work on serious and professional platforms. The ranking contestants will be granted with scholarships at the Canterbury Campus in England and prize money by GAU.

GAU have announced that the first prize will be 2000 Euros and 100% Foundation Scholarship, the second prize will be 1500 Euros and 100% Foundation Scholarship and the third prize will be 1000 Euros and 100% Foundation Scholarship at the Canterbury Campus in England.

Admissions are due by 4th April 2014

The admissions are due by Friday 4th April 2014 and the students who want to apply for the contest can visit the web address: http://yarismalar.gau.edu.tr or telephone (0392) 650 2000 extension 1165. The award night will be attended by the most famous directors and cinema artists of Turkey and North Cyprus. The awards will be presented following the screening of the films.
