Girne American University (GAU) is getting prepared to do the honours in the architecture field for the Middle East and Mediterranean Area’s greatest academic event.

The 2nd CAUMME (Contemporary Architecture and Urbanism in the Mediterranean and the Middle-East) is being hosted by GAU Faculty of Architecture, Design and Fine Arts Contemporary Architecture and Urbanism. The Symposium topic has been declared as Architectural and Urban Research, Education, and Practice in the Era of 'Post-Professionalism by the Symposium Directors.

In the statement made it has been indicated that the Symposium will be held on 23rd to 25th October 2014 and the Symposium, which is being organized in the field of Architecture and Urbanism twice a year, will jointly be carried out by the Girne American University, Yıldız Technical University and Qatar University.

World Architecture Authorities are coming to TRNC

In the statement related to the topic it has been stated by GAU that in the Mediterranean and Middle East the first Symposium of Contemporary Architecture and Urbanism had been held in 2012 at Istanbul Technical University and it also has been remarked that it attracted great attention by the world architecture authorities. It has further been emphasized that next year this event will be hosted at GAU and the Vice Dean of GAU Architecture, Design and Fine Arts - Assist. Prof. Dr. Hossein Sadri will be the Head of the Symposium. In the statement it has been confirmed that scientists from over 20 countries will attend the 2nd CAUMME and it has been stated that GAU will do the honours for the world architecture authorities.

The Symposium will be held in English at the main hall and various panels will be conducted in Middle Eastern and Mediterranean area languages. It also has been confirmed that detailed information can be reached on the web address http://caumme.gau.edu.tr
