WHAT'S
Applied Course at Alagadi by GAC Students
The International Prep School of Girne American College under the GAU Group of Schools has organized a series of educational programs in the Alagadi region.
The observation excursion, as a support program for the Science and Social Sciences Course during the first semester of the 2013/2014 Academic Years, was arranged to cover the topic of flora and fauna under the Science Course and was held along the Alagadi coast to enable students to experience the reality. The teachers explained the specifications of the flowers and pollens found on the coast. Students were acquainted with the rock erosions by the coast, life forms in the struggle for survival in a puddle, the co-ordinates of rocks within the sea, the contribution of environmental factors to nature and the geographical structure of the island.
The students who have experienced the beauty and the natural life have been able to further discuss this with their third grade friends and also with their teachers thus re-evaluating many topics which had been undertaken during the semester.
