A new International Academic Publication by GAU
GAU expounds Cypriot Turkish to the World
An academic publication by Girne American University Faculty of Education - Department of Turkish Language and Literature Teaching, has been published in Germany.
Lecturer of GAU Turkish Language and Literature - Gökçe Yükselen Abdurrazak Peler’s academic study entitled “The Tense-Aspect-Mood/Modality System of the Turkish Spoken in Cyprus” has been published in “Scholars' Press”- Germany. The study has incorporated the connection of mood and modality of the Cypriot dialect and the Turkish in Ancient Anatolia. The doctorate thesis prepared in SOAS reveals that the Cypriot dialect has developed from the Ancient Anatolian Turkish and Turkish of Turkey. The study also explains the formation of Cyprus dialects and the sociolinguistic elements which have affected this formation. The thesis which was enriched by various text is available for sale via the relevant Publishing House for those who have an interest in conducting research regarding Cyprus dialects.
