“Sweet Campus” Day at GAU

Girne American University continues to promote the Cyprus Turkish culture with its international identity and was host to academicians and students from 85 countries.

The event of “Sweet Campus” which was held at the GAU Cyprus - Girne Campus Rectorate Square has promoted the Cyprus Turkish cultural sweet “lokma” (yeast fritters in thick syrup) to the academicians and students from 85 countries and also to celebrate “Mevlid Kandili” (Birthday of the Prophet Mohammad). The event was attended by a majority of the students and they have confirmed that this event had a positive motivation for them during the finals week.

GAU stated that the “Sweet Campus” Day, was held to promote the Cypriot and Turkish common cultural sweet of “lokma” on the holy day of “Mevlid Kandili” to the academicians and students from 85 different countries, emphasizing that similar cultural events are usually held in GAU and underlined that the most significant advantage to study abroad is to adopt the cultural prosperity.
