Research of GAU Member of Faculty Published in City Planning Journal

The research of a GAU Member of Faculty on “Earthquake Risk of Istanbul” was published in one of the well-known City Planning Journals.

GAU stated that the new issue of “dérive” – a journal published in Austria and significant in Europe on City Planning published “Public Spaces: Resilience and Rhythm”. The 54th Issue of the journal included original research articles of Faculty Member of GAU Architecture, Design and Fine Arts Faculty and Head of Interior Architecture - Assist. Prof. Dr. Senem Sadri and the German Landscape Architect and Researcher - Susanne Prehl. The article entitled “Istanbul – City of Risk. Public space planning for risk mitigation” refers especially to earthquake risk and planning of public spaces accordingly to minimize the risk.

Furthermore, the article also refers to risk orientated city projects and regulated legal and legislative analysis and the assessment of applied projects under critical perception throughout Turkey in general and Istanbul specifically. Aglaée Degros, Sabine Knierbein and Ali Madanipour'un, mainly well-known in Europe for city planning, have edited the article –“dérive”. The initial issue of Public Spaces has rated top 6th of the articles published in 2014.
