GAU to discuss The Concept Of Democracy

A seminar entitled “The Concept of Democracy” organized by GAU Political Science and International Relations Club will be held with the participation of the Chair of Bar Association of Turkish Republic - Prof. Dr. Metin Feyzioğlu.

The seminar will be held in GAU Millennium Senate Hall on 27th of December 2013 at 17:30 pm. The subject of the seminar is “The Concept of Democracy” and will be open to public.
The Biography of the Chair of Bar Association of Turkish Republic - Prof. Dr. Metin Feyzioğlu is stated as follows:

“He is the only child of Mehmet Buçukoğlu (1945-2000) and Saide (Feyzioğlu) Buçukoğlu (1950-1969) – the daughter of Prof. Dr. Turhan Feyzioğlu and Leyla (Cıngıllıoğlu) Feyzioğlu. Mother died during his birth and he was raised by his grandparents’ support. Feyzioğlu graduated from TED Ankara College in 1986 and Ankara University Faculty of Law in 1990. He completed his Post-graduate degree in Public Law in 1992. He was granted a PhD in 1995 in the same field. Following his faculty graduation in 1996 he then was assigned as Assist. Prof. in Criminal Law. He was also granted with English Law in Columbia University. This was followed by his Assoc. Professor title in 2000 and he finally assumed the title of Professor in 2005. He then assumed the position of Dean of Law Faculty in Ankara University in 2007 which he held for 1 year. Feyzioğlu, on 10th of October 2010, was elected as the Chair of Ankara Bar where he had been registered since 1991. On 18th of July 2012 he was assigned as the member of CHP (Republican People’s Party) Assembly via the quota of Science Management and Culture Platform. Following his success as the 8th Chair of the Turkey Bar Association, he retired from his office of party assembly on 26th of May 2013 subsequent to the 32nd Ordinary General Meeting of Turkey Bars Association. He is married and a father of two daughters”.
