Girne American University, which maintains the academic cooperation especially with Kazakhstan, Central Asia Universities, added one more agreement to the list.

GAU signed  an agreement with the first and largest university Abai University of Kazakhstan. The agreement that participated in GAU Cyprus- Karmi Campus was attended by CEO and Vice-Chancellor of Board of Administrators Assist. Prof. Dr. AsımVehbion behalf of GAU and Prof. Dr. AdilhanKuzhamkulovon behalf of Abai University and Vehbihavespoken as follows;

Vehbi, “GAU Continues to Break New Grounds”

“Today GAU signs an significant agreement with the first and oldest university, Abai University of Kazakhstan. In reality this agreement is not the first for GAU. We have been maintaining our petrol and gas management programs for years as dual degree with Kazakhstan National Tecnical University and many of our students graduated from this department. This agreement which we cooperated with Abai University is not only 1 program; it is aparted for 12 programmes. Our students who want to study one year programin Kazakhstan will live in Abai University for a year. Many students from Kazakhstan will spend at least one year here to get the dual degree for 12 departments. GAU is not only the first university of TRNC but also with the innovations, projects and successes it broke new grounds. The dual degree which is applied in Kazakhstan is the first of GAU’s project and besides that GAU continues to break new grounds.”

Assist. Prof. Dr.AsımVehbifor his final remarks into his speech has thanked toVice-Rector Prof. Dr. AdilhanKuzhamkulov for visiting TRNC and entering signing an agreement and also wished the best for GAU students and TRNC.

In his speech, Vice-Rector of Kazakhstan Abai University Prof. Dr.AdilhanKuzhamkulov remarked that the cooperation between Kazakhstan and GAU maintained successfully since 2005 and also he emphasized that the Abai University of Kazakhstan is the first and oldest university and the university which established in 1928 that has more than 17 thousands students. Professor Doctor AdilhanKuzhamkulov remarked that a great number of students will be welcomed toGirne American University with the agreement and the cooperation will begin with the undergraduate program which is the first step, and mentioned that it will continue with the master and doctoral program.
