Winner Will be Awarded with Full Scholarship in GAU Canterbury Campus
The 5th GAU Inter-High School Short Film Contest which is traditionally held within the scope of Girne American University (GAU) every year begins.
The aim of the contest is to gather directors, producers of future and let the new friendships begin. According to the statement made by GAU winner of the contest will be awarded with full scholarship in GAU Canterbury Campus.
Contestants can apply with short films with documentary and drama content. Terms of the contest is listed below
Awards of the contest
Grand Prize
Full Scholarship in GAU Canterbury Campus or 2500 Euro
Second Prize
1500 Euro and Digital Camera
Third Prize
750 Euro and DivX / DVD Player
Only high-school students from TR and TRNC can apply to the contest.
Films are supposed to be maximum 15 minutes long
There is no restriction about the topic of films however films which contradicts with the principles of National Education and public decency, will not be accepted.
Regardless of the original format of the films, they should be recorded with the “PAL” system.
Jury has the right to disqualificate the contestants due to apparent technical mistakes in their films.
The deadline for the contest is April 11,2011. Until the deadline, documents listed below should be sent to Girne American University

2 black and white or color photos of the film
Abstract of the film ( Maximum 100 words)
Student certificate
It is possible to join the contest as individual or group. Contestants who are going to apply as a group should address the name of their leader. Every group have the right to join the contest with one or more film
The television of GAU, GAU TV has a right to show all the films that contestants join to the contest with.
Contestants do not have the right for object to the decisions of jury
Results will be determined at the end of the jury meeting which is going to be held beginning of April, and with the ceremony that is going to be held on April 11,winners of the contest will take their awards in Girne American University
First degree relatives of the organizers of the contest and members of selection committee do not have the right for join the contest.
The films and visual aid which will be sent to the contest are supposed to be not published, exhibited, awarded and their copyrights should be reserved.
Terms of the contest consist of 13 articles including the present one. Every contestant is supposed to be accepted the terms of contest. Those terms can only be changed by the organizers of the contest.
