GAU International Social Media Symposium has Ended
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Neriman Saygılı: “Social Media Dominates Modern Life with Freedom and Threats”The second annual International Social Media Symposium held under GAU Communication Faculty has ended.
The symposium, which had been realized in GAU Millennium Complex Senate Congress Center, was participated by nearly 50 scientists from TRNC, Turkey, Spain, Italy, Georgia and Kazakhstan.
Neriman underlined that 50 scientist which had presented Social Media and Marketing, Social Media as a Method of Consumption, International Politics and Social Media, Social Media as a Threat to Freedom, Social Media as a Method of Auditing, Reflection of Social Media to our Psychological and Social Lives, Education and Social Media; A New Era in Education?, Is Journalism and Social Media/ Social Media and Journalism an “Evolution” of Literature?, Press Literature to Hyper Literature, Media and Technology during the 2 days of the International Social Media Symposium which was held under the concept of Communication in Media New Freedoms New Threats Social Media Era has great contribution for the development of the scientific productions.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Neriman Saygılı also stated in her speech that societies are facing an era in which social media dominates over life of modern individual through using freedom and threats while also emphasizing thatthe symposium will significantly contribute for the promotion of the country
Saygılı stressed that social media is dominating individuals in all aspects of mental, social life. Saygılı also emphasized that the statements of those scientist which participated to the symposium from all over the world must be considered significantly in regards to psychological, sociological and political effects of social media. Saygılı also stated that yet social media is violating and manipulating information swiftly and also creating various risks and threats.
Saygılı finally emphasized that the resultants of the symposium are great contributions for the social media and underlined that GAU Communication Faculty will continue to develop communal beneficiaries and contribute for the student development via scientific projects and studies.
