A COMMUNION MEETING TOOK PLACE IN REGARDS TO GAU AND OTHER LOCAL UNIVERSITIES

President Derviş Eroğlu: “We are receiving positive news about the universities, we hope to see progression”.

President met GAU Science Board under the presidency of GAU Founding Rector and Chancellor of Board of Administrators Serhat Akpınar.

GAU CEO and Vice-Chancellor of Board of Administrators Dr. Asım Vehbi and Vice-Chancellor of Board of Administrators Olgun Üstün have also participated in the reception.

Akpınar: “We object the name imitation not the establishment of a university”.GAU Founding Rector and Chancellor of Board of Administrators Serhat Akpınar has stressed that the purpose of the visit is to communion with the President Derviş Eroğlu whom was the Prime Minister in 1980’s during the initial establishments of the universities in TRNC.

Serhat Akpınar also emphasized that Eroğlu had contribution for the development of the universities and as well stated that at this point there is unfair competition.

Akpınar stressing that “a new university is attempting to establish under the name of -Girne University- which the founders are whom are bounded to another university; this disappoints us. We object the name imitation not the establishment of a university”.

President Eroğlu also added that GAU is one of the leading local universities and Eroğlu underlined that he pursues the valuable messages been conveyed across to the country and the world by GAU.

Eroğlu finalized his words by stating that GAU is cooperating with abroad countries and also attempting to commence endeavors regarding medicine.
