GAU wins and receives the cup of Inter-Universities Badminton Championship organized by Federation of Turkey University Sports.

GAU Badminton team becomes the winner amongst 10 other universities competing in the championship held in Gaziantep and wins the premier league cup of Turkey Inter-Universities Championship and is granted a chance to compete in Turkey Super League for the next season.

GAU Badminton team consisting of the Coach Muzaffer Doğgün and the athletes Savaş Dursun, Esra Gökalp, Osman Arslan, Gülden Yandık, Serdar Sert and Nesil Yusufoğlu have won the championship with only one loss, the champion for the ladies singles was GAU athlete Esra Gökalp and also for the men singles Savaş Dursun from GAU ranked second.

 “Our Aim is to Bring the Super League Cup to TRNC” GAU Sports Coordinator and Team Coach Muzaffer Doğgün has stressed that similarly to the GAU table tennis team, the GAU Badminton team has achieved a great success after winning TRNC League Championship, TRNC Inter-Universities Championship and finally Premier League of Turkey Inter-Universities Championship. Doğgün also emphasized that GAU is honored to represent the country and the universities both in national and international competitions. Doğgün also added that the aim is to bring the Super League cup to TRNC. He finally thanked GAU authorities and the champion athletes for their great contributions.
