Space Science Protocol to be Signed

A protocol for establishing an Astrophysics and Space Sciences Research center in TRNC is to be signed amongst GAU and Kazakhstan Astrophysics Institute.

The protocol which will undertake the establishment of Astrophysics and Space Sciences Research center for the first time in TRNC in GAU Cyprus-Girne Campus will be signed in Kazakhstan with the invitation of the President of Kazakhstan Astrophysics Institute Prof. Dr. Chingis Omarov to GAU Science committee.

The Founding Rector and Chancellor of Board of Administrators Serhat Akpınar, Vice- Chancellor of Board of Administrators Olgun Üstün and Rector Prof. Dr. Yıldırım Öner for the GAU Science committee will be paying various visits, conduct examinations and sign the protocol in the city of Almati- Kazakhstan during the dates of 8-11 April 2013.

The authorities of Kazakhstan Astrophysics Institute and scientists have stressed that following the signing of the protocol the center will be established and scientific progress will begin. Founding Rector and Chancellor of Board of Administrators Serhat Akpınar have further emphasized the significance of establishing such center for the first time in TRNC.


 “The Center which shall Proceed Space Sciences and Astrophysics Studies will be first in TRNC and Set Authority in the World of Science”Akpınar stressed that it has been nearly finalized with the progress undertaken to establish a center and commence production via the collaborations emerged with the world leading in Space sciences and astrophysics education and scientific foundation and bases of thought- a significant space sciences base after the separation of USSR- in Kazakhstan. GAU will be the first the establish a space sciences and astrophysics center in TRNC with the protocol to be signed by GAU and Kazakhstan.

Akpınar stressed that he is living the honor and joy of being the first yet again in TRNC as GAU. Akpınar also emphasized that the center will act as an authority in the world of science through the scientific studies conducted in regards of outer space and galaxies and also examining and monitoring procedures.

Akpınar stated that the Space Sciences and Astrophysics Center will begin from pre-school to all pre-university institutions under GAU Group of Schools and to all students in general will be provided with knowledge of space, outer space, astrology, planets and galaxies, examination and monitoring on stellar system. Akpınar also underlined that the center will also play a role in commencing the education on departments regarding astronomy sciences and also stressed that the center which would be an international gravitational center will emerge promotional additives for the country.
