Seminar of “Foundation of Quarries Cooperation and Occupational Health and Safety” was held at GAU.

The seminar which was held in GAU Cyprus-Girne Campus Millennium Complex Senate Congress Center was open to public.

The opening speeches were conducted by President of TAŞOVA FoundationBektaş Göze, Vice-Rector Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zafer Ağdelen, Assoc. Director of Labor Department Kemal Metin Beyaz and President of OHS Experts Union Emir Taşçıoğlu. Other scientists and opinion leaders from GAU and other institutions and committees have also taken speeches.

Prof. Dr. Ayşen Türkman from European University of Lefke have explained further about occupational health and safety while Labor Inspector Mehmet Yavuzhan talked about legislation of occupational health and safety and finally teaching staff of Cyprus International University Assist. Prof. Dr. Ayşe Tansu Tunçbilek emphasized about protection for work accidents.

During the discussion session of the seminar the moderation was undertaken by the Dean of GAU Engineering Faculty Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ali Haydar and the speakers and their topics were Occupational Health and Safety Expert Simge Korkmazcan- workplace hazards and risk analysis, OHS Experts Union Emir Taşçıoğlu- North Cyprus OHS Practices, GAU-Head of Industrial Engineering Assist. Prof. Dr. Burcu Toker- Occupational Health and Safety at Offices, TAŞOVA- President of OHS AgencyHalil Erdim Culture of Occupational Health and Safety.

Following the seminar of GAU and Foundation of Quarries Cooperation and Occupational Health and Safety, the speakers were presented a plaquet of appreciation by GAU Vice-Rector Zafer Ağdelen.
