Application admissions have begun for the ecologic sustainability and energy protection oriented contest of “Green & Cypriot: Innovative Thinking for a Green Girne- Sustainable Workplace Design” made possible by cooperation of GAU Faculty of Architecture, Design and Fine arts and Nurel Group of Companies.

The contest aims to develop the environmental awareness in the field of North Cyprus architecture and design in professional means and also in architectural education via orienting in green architecture philosophy and principals. Besides, the contest also aims to encourage students to use domestic resources and utilities combining the latest technology and design approaches to form innovative design solutions in order to yield the future generations a livable Cyprus.

A statement made via GAU further explained that all students whom are studying in the departments of architecture within TRNC can individually or as group can participate in the contest. Students of Interior architecture, civil engineering and mechanical engineering can participate in the contest with a condition of attending teams with a leader of architecture department student. Participation is free of charge.

The due date for admission is on 1st of April 2013 and due date for the project submissions is on 6th of May 2013, Monday at 17:00pm. The results will be announced on 13th of May 2013.
