Importance of Cooperation from Individual Problems to the Social Problems
Millennium Senate and Congress Centre.The panel “Importance of Cooperation from Individual Problems to the Social Problems” which was organized by the Girne American University Faculty of Education Psychological Counselling and Guidance Department and PDR club, held in GAU Karmi Campus Millennium Senate and Congress Centre.
According to the statement made by Girne American University, the relation between the solution of individual problems and solution of social problems, pointed out in the panel. While specialists related with those fields need to cooperate to solve problem of both sides, the panel was held to analyze the subject by the specialists of various disciplines.
The panel which was also held for increasing the practical knowledge of the PDR students of GAU, attended by the President of Physiological Counselling and Guidance Foundation, Assist Prof. Dr. Müge Beidoğlu, Lecturer of GAU Physiological Counselling and Guidance Department Senior Psychologist Çiğdem Çan Aslan, psychiatrist of Barış Psychiatric Hospital, Erdem Beyoğlu, Buse Erzeybek who is one of the authorizer of SOS Children Village, Sociologist Hüseyin Gürşan and Specialist of Special Education İlhan Karadağ.
The panel which was opened with the speech of President of PDR Club Nurdan Zeren, was handled in two sessions and those sessions were directed by the Vice-Rector Assoc. Prof. Tülin Bodamyalı and the Dean of the Faculty of Education Prof. Dr. Tanju Gürkan.
In his speech, Psychiatrist of Child and Adolescent, Erdem Beyoğlu pointed out the importance of cooperation of specialists for the solution of problems whereas Assist. Prof Dr. Müge Beidoğlu talked about the development process of Physiological Counselling and Guidance department. She also informed students about the job opportunities of the department. In addition to this, Senior Psychologist Çiğdem Çan Aslan mentioned that society needs to laws that determines the boundaries of vocations and rivalry between vocation groups have a detrimental effect on the service given to the society. In the second session of the panel specialist of special education İlhan Karadağ said all the specialist have an equal importance at the field of special education and pointed out the importance of cooperation between disciplines. At the end of the panel PDR students asked questions related with the subject and the panel gathered great attention of Girne American University students.
