Nearly 200 participants from over 70 countries came to TRNC for the global higher education workshop approx. 200 participants from over 70 countries came to TRNC for the global higher education workshop which will be held for 3 days in GAU Cyprus-Girne Campus International Congress Center Spectrum Hall.

The Founding Rector and Chancellor of Board of Administrators Serhat Akpınar, GAU CEO and Vice-Chancellor of Board of Administrators Dr. Asım Vehbi, Vice-Chancellors of Board of Administrators Olgun Üstün and Cemile Esenyel and finally Rector Prof. Dr. Yıldırım Öner and academic staff have participated to the opening ceremony of the workshop.

The workshop which will significantly contribute to the promotion of the country and North Cyprus higher education as to be held between the dates of 4-6 March 2013 was contributed with the opening speech of The Founding Rector and Chancellor of Board of Administrators Serhat Akpınar, GAU CEO and Vice-Chancellor of Board of Administrators Dr. Asım Vehbi prior to the promotion presentation of the country and the university by Vice-Rector Assoc. Prof. Dr. Olgun Çiçek.

Serhat AKPINAR: “We are Establishing our Common Future in the Civilization of the Education-TRNC- with the Global Power of Science.”Akpınar emphasized that they are very proud to host the opinion leaders of GAU Global Science family in TRNC. In his speech he also underlined that it is very significant for the country’s and North Cypriot higher education system’s promotion as the workshop of global power of science and the education civilization as the common future of the humanity will be held in Girne Campus.  He also emphasized that the significance of sharing values and information besides leading the global higher education.

Akpınar also underlined that workshop will contribute for significant results to generate and thus lead the higher education. Akpınar also emphasized that the contributions of the authorities of England, USA, Singapore and GAU Istanbul and opinion leaders of GAU global science family during the workshop through the scientific presentations about new strategies in the higher education.

Seminars, workshops and conferences will be realized during the workshop between the dates of 4-6 March 2013 in GAU Cyprus-Girne Campus. The guest science committees whom will be participating in the cultural excursions for knowing more about TRNC will also establish some contacts with local higher education.
