Founding President Rauf Denktaş was commemorated in 1st anniversary of his death with activities organized by Girne American College under GAU Pre-Higher education Consortium Group of Schools.


The ceremony which commenced after a moment of silence and the Turkish Anthem for the Founding President Rauf Denktaş American College Girne Campus was participated the by students of 18 different countries.


The 88 years of Founding President late Rauf Raif Denktaş’s life was conveyed via his political life, the struggle he put forward for the Turkish Cypriot community, poems and various visual presentations.


 “The Greatest Monument of Denktaş is granting the Turkish Cypriots with a State”The authorities speaking in the commemoration ceremony in the American college it have said that the greatest monument of late Rauf Denktaş is granting the Turkish Cypriots with a State.


The ceremony has ended with emphasis on the fact that Turkish Cypriots reaching from been a sect to be a community and then progressing in its struggle by founding a state with the efforts of Dr. Fazıl Küçük, Rauf Raif Denktaş and all other communal leaders.
