The leader of the existence struggle of the Turkish Cypriots Dr. Fazıl Küçük and Founding President Rauf Raif Denktaş were commemorated upon their anniversary of passing in a ceremony held in Girne and Lefkoşa campuses of American College.

The commemoration ceremony of Dr. Küçük which was commenced by a stand of silence and Turkish Anthem later followed by the school chorus concert and poem performances and finalized with the speeches of year 9C student Emre Ateş and year 10C student Richard Gough about the leadership of Dr. Küçük.

Democrat Party General President Serdar Denktaş, son of Rauf Denktaş attended the commemoration ceremony of Rauf Denktaş as spokesperson which was held in the Lefkoşa campus of American College.

Serdar Denktaş has replied the questions forwarded by the students at the end of the commemoration ceremony after explaining the life and political struggle of Founding President Rauf Denktaş to the American College students.

Serdar Denktaş emphasizing that Rauf Denktaş was a significant opinion leader and leader of the Cyprus Turkish struggle history for arising the Turkish Cypriots from been a community to been a state also underlined that new generations must clearly understand the principles of independence and sovereignty and finally uttered that it was Rauf Denktaş’s will that new generations must conserve the history and the state of TRNC as the future of the community.
