GAU Science Committee Hosted By Bozer
Girne American University Science Committee was hosted by President of TRNC Assembly Hasan Bozer.
The science committee which formed by GAU CEO and Vice-Chancellor of Board of Administrators Dr. Asım Vehbi, Rector Prof. Dr. Yıldırım Öner, Vice-Rectors Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sadık Ülker, Assoc. Prof. Dr.Olgun Çiçek and Zafer Ağdelen and General Secretary Dr. Sualp Davut have informed the President of Assembly Hasan Bozer about the developments of 2012 academic year and higher education and also 2013 objectives for higher education in North Cyprus.
“Sustainable Growth is a Precondition for Success in International Competition”
President of the Assembly Hasan Bozer explained further in the meeting that sound foundation, road map and a sustainable growth is a precondition for success in international competition for the universities in the country.
Bozer also stated that apart that the political parties in the parliament, the government also relies on scientists’ views and yet “GAU is an example for sustainable growth. We are indeed happy of this condition of you. We did experienced difficulties in the student flow either due to the economic crisis or the private universities that had been established in our main-land. Nevertheless we see that, we have gradually overcome these difficulties for an extent. I hope this will progress as is in the future. But nothing will work with no effort. There is a must to plan projects, create road maps and undertake the one is necessary. It is visible that GAU had done what is necessary so that it lies in a good condition”.
“As GAU Global Science Family We Seek 2013 with Hope”
GAU CEO and Vice-Chancellor of Board of Administrators Dr. Asım Vehbi showed his appreciations to the president of the assembly Hasan Bozer for his hosting and also stated that as GAU global science family they seek 2013 with hope despite the negations faced in 2012.
Dr. Vehbi explained further that Cypriot Turks mustn’t be pessimistic due to the year 2012, and yet added that a better and sustainable year is ahead for the Turkish Cypriot community due to the scientific productions of the universities and the cooperation with the official institutions and the governmental organs.
Dr. Vehbi also added that GAU will progress with new global projects in the year 2013 and with the aid of the global overseas campuses and the global power of the science GAU’s support for state economy and the lifting of the embargos will continue and finally wished people of TRNC a happy new year on behalf of the GAU global science family.
