GAU hosted the famous entrepreneur, businessman and author Baybars Altuntaş, whom leads the entrepreneurship world as an opinion leader, in the series of conferences of 28th Year in Higher education content for the 2012-2013 academic year programs.

GAU students, academic and administrative staff and also Turkish Cypriot media showed great interest to the conference held in Girne American University  Cyprus- Girne Campus International Congress Center Spectrum Hall.

Entrepreneurship Guru and opinion leader Baybars Altuntaş, have signed the books of “Otobüsten İndim, BMW’ye Bindim” and “Başarıda Tanrı Parçacıkları” in the signature day sponsored by Deniz Plaza held in GAU Cyprus- Girne Campus International Congress Center Spectrum Hall lounge after the conference.

The Entrepreneurship guru Baybars Altuntaş whom attended the conference as a lecturer have explained how he became an entrepreneur and the incidents he faced during his years of studentship when he began his entrepreneurship. Altuntaş, emphasizing that “it is possible to be an entrepreneur with no capital”, he further stated that he began his journey with a slogan of earn before you spend. Altuntaş explained that the students must be bold and creative in means of entrepreneurship and conveyed important information about the fundamentals of the entrepreneurship.

 “Earn before you Spend” Altuntaş stressing that it is possible for everyone that begins from scratch to reach success, and also pulled attention to the fine difference between undertaking and entrepreneurship by underlining that those who seeks success in entrepreneurship and life must earn before spending. Altuntaş stating that, the most important organ of an entrepreneur is the “eyes”, thus enabling them “to see what everybody else is looking”.  The fine line between looking and seeing determines the fine line between success and failure. Thicker the line the most successful you are. Those commencing with no capital must first sell their business modeling then prepare accordingly to the expenditure. Thus it is possible to establish a business from scratch with no necessity of capital and no risk. We can reach success in our daily lives by implementing this model. Such as buying a car, house, getting married, educating children in private schools. He explained further by saying that the most important thing is to “model in a correct way”.

“I have presented the letter of Prime Minister Erdoğan to Obama” Baybars Altuntaş, met Barrack Obama face to face in the White House Prime Ministry Summit which is accepted as the most important entrepreneurship movement in the 21st century to present the invitation letter from the Prime Minister of Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, rephrased that the second summit will be held in Turkey and emphasized further that Turkey is responsible for important duties during the procedure of western entrepreneurship and the collaboration of Middle East and the Muslim world  economies within the world of economy.

Describing the possibility of been a boss with no capital in his book of “Başarıda Tanrı Parçacığı”, Altuntaş also stated the importance of courage in the field of entrepreneurship for there is much more easiness for the entrepreneurship in a world where informatics is globally dominant.

 “I Will Evaluate the Upcoming Investment Projects from TRNC” Altuntaş pointing out to the works of TBAA- Angel Investors Society, EURADA- Union of European Development Agencies and EBAN (European Business Angels Network) established by EU- European Commission in Brussels, WBAA (World Business Angels Association), UFRAD- Franchising Society and also BAGA – Baybars Altuntaş Entrepreneurship Academy, he will provide a possibility for any student of GAU, willing to submit a project, to attend to the International Entrepreneurship Forum and also stated that will evaluate the upcoming investment projects from TRNC.



GAU General Secretary Sualp Davut presented a plaquet in means of appreciation to Baybars Altuntaş at the end of the conference.
