WORLD GIANT AH&LA IS NOW IN TRNC AND TURKEY
AGREEMENT SIGNED BY GAU AND AH&LA QUALIFIES GAU AS THE ONLY UNIVERSITY IN TRNC AND TURKEY TO PROVIDE TOURISM EDUCATION UNDER AH&LAs NAME
WITH THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE AGREEMENT GAU WILL CREATE A MAJOR DIFFERENCE IN TOURISM EDUCATION AND PROVIDE QUALIFIED GRADUATES IN THE FIELD
AH&LA-GAU TOURISM EDUCATION PROGRAMS WILL BEGIN IN TURKEY AND TRNC WITH THE BEGINNING OF THE 2012-2013 ACADEMIC YEAR IN SEPTEMBER

Girne American University’s, Founding President, Chairman of the Board and International Tourism Training Board Serhat Akpinar signed the agreement with a world giant and global authority AH&LA to become the only qualified authority in tourism education in Turkey and the TRNC.

Since its establishment by Michigan State Univetsity the American Hotel and Lodging Association Education Institute has been shaping the world of tourism education and being actively involved in the development of tourism policies with its opinions. The agreement signed with GAU under Global Academic Programs will make an important difference and create awareness for tourism education at GAU.

The agreement signed by Serhat Akpinar of GAU and Robert Steele head of AH&LA enables GAU to be the only university to give both educational and certificate programs of AH&LA at the beginning of the 2012-2013 academic year stated a spokesperson from GAU Head office.
The program which leads world tourism is applied in 47 countries.

The AH&LA program originally established in 1952 by Michigan State University giving tourism and accomodation education, which was not aimed at profit makingwill begin to give certificate programs in GAU’s Istanbul education complex this academic year.

Furthermore, the programs applied in 47 countries have met with intense interest from professionals working in the field of Tourism and Hospitality. The AH&LA diploma programs of Tourism Management and Food and Beverage Management as well as Professional Expertise Certification in Partial Room Management, Food and Beverage Management, Personell Management, International Tourism Management, Marketing Management and Space Management will be given under a wide program.

Girne American University’s, Founding President, Chairman of the Board and International Tourism Training Board (GAU INTEB) Serhat Akpinar stated that global knowledge is needed to compete with global competitors and with AH&LA’s global programs this will not only be possible but TRNC’s recognition will also be brought to light.

The School of Tourism and Hotel Management and Hospitality GAU students will be able continue their education or training programs in the AH & LA program and also be able to harmonize their

AH & LA Lodging Management international education programs in the many international GAU campuses which will enable them to develop to the highest levels.

The agreement will enable the lodging of American Hotel and Lodging Assossiation Education Institute and Tourism and Hotel Education to begin in the near future stated Akpinar. He continued by disclosing that the School of Applied Social Sciences and the International Tourism Training Board `s will herald new tourism programs in the new academic year and pointed out that GAU and the AH & LA tourism training programs and policies will guide the graduates registered in the global information and tourism will begin their careers as experts.
