During GAU Summer School activities a causerie was held with Hidayet Türkoğlu in GAU Millennium Complex Senate Hall.

During the causerie Hidayet Türkoğlu said that he was having holiday in TRNC, and he also said that he didn’t refuse the offer of GAU’s authorities. With his fans’ deep interest, he made an entertaining and witty causerie.

Türkoğlu: “It’s a Great Honor to be a Complimentary Envoy of GAU’s USA Campus”

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Olgun Çiçek was the moderator of the causerie, and Hidayet Türkoğlu gave entertaining and witty answers to questions of his fans. Türkoğlu mentioned that he is keeping tabs on for GAU’s campuses located abroad and successes in higher education. He also said that he is proud of being GAU USA Washington DC Campus’ Complimentary Envoy.

At the end of causerie GAU Vice Chancellor Dr. Asım Vehbi gave a plaque to Hidayet Türkoğlu.

He said: “While I was in the USA for university education, it was unimaginable to consider having a Turkish Basketball player in NBA. I truly congratulate Hidayet Türkoğlu for this and I thank him for being with us.”

After the causerie he made some practice with GAU Basketball team in GAU covered gymnasium. He shared his experiences with GAU sportsmen. After the practice he took a photo with team. And he made a statement to GAU TV. He said that causerie was entertaining and education is essential for success. Türkoğlu said that he was impressed by the opportunities and he emaphasized that in addition to Turkish sportsmen, also Turkish Universities should extend themselves with international activities for success.
