YÖK’s approval to Construction Engineering Department

GAU left 27th year behind in higher education in 2010 – 2011 academic year. And progress for giving Engineering Education in World Standards continues. According to statement from GAU, together with education at Engineering Faculty, GAU Girne Campus Techno-Park, existing education laboratories have been developed and new laboratories have been presented to scientific production and education. And in 2011 – 2012 academic year, YÖK has approved Construction Engineering department.

In order to give Engineering education in World Standards, new laboratories have been opened with the help of Turkish Republic Lefkoşa (Nicosia) Embassy. According to statement, Physics, Chemistry, Software Technologies Research and Development, Internet Technologies Research and Development and Alternative Energy labs will have important contribution to student development.

Properties of Computer, Electronics, Ergonomics and Work Study, PLC and Microprocessor, Electric Machines, Mechatronics, Software Development, Communication and Microwave Labs have been developed by infrastructural and technological means. With this development scientific information and Education continues in GAU Girne Campus Techno-Park. With education laboratories, Techno-park become center for engineering education and sciences.

The 14 laboratories established will also be used by the professional organizations and private companies and this system will be the first in the TRNC in this sense.
